Bettye Jean Knotts Deberry,
February 5, 1941 thru February 22, 2018
After battling cancer for over 2 years, Ms. Bettye Jean Knotts DeBerry was delivered to heaven on Thursday, February 22, 2018. She was born on February 5, 1941 to Lathelia Clemmons and Lawrence Winfred Knotts Sr. in Dangerfield Texas. She was my family’s elder, advisor, and confidant, as well as an awesome Aunt. She was always willing to help those who were less fortunate and to make any sacrifice for her family. She will be sorely missed by all of her friends, family, and associates.
She went to Dunbar Middle School and graduated from Wheatly High School, here in San Antonio. She was raised on the West Side of San Antonio and grew up with her brother, Lawrence Knotts Jr. She attended college and eventually became a Contracting Officer for the Federal Government. She worked in contracting for 26 years and retired as a GS12 in 2001.
Bettye is now free from trials, tribulations, sorrow and pain. We will miss her and cherish all of the wonderful things that her life had to bring.
Sadly, and with heavy hearts, we have to say goodbye to Bettye on this day. We love you dearly! May God Bless you to forever rest is peace.
Survivors include brother Lawrence E. Knotts; nephew, Lawrence H. Knotts; Nieces, Pamela Knotts and Valerie Richardson; Great Nephews, Lawrence J.
