Obituary

Verdo Franklin County, Sr., was born to Cora Ray and Albert County in Devine, Texas on April 30, 1923. Verdo accepted Christ at an early age in Pearsal, Texas under the leadership of Rev. Roaches.

Later in his adult life he moved to San Antonio, Texas. It was during this time he met and married Nettie nation on October 29, 1951. They were the parents of nine children. He was a very supportive father. After moving to San Antonio he joined Gardendale Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Rev. John C. Wheeler. As a member he took pride in keeping the grounds of the church mowed and clean. He was a faithful member until his health began to decline. Verdo worked for the City of San Antonio for twenty five years. He enjoyed being outside and love raising his live stock. He and his wife raised eleven other children. They never turned anyone away from their home.

Our father was a loving person, if you knew him you loved him. He was the pillar of strength for his family. We never had to go outside of the family for advice, we could go to our father. He was straight and to the point and did not sugarcoat anything.

Daddy leaves to cherish his memory nine children, twenty five grandchildren, thirty five great grandchildren and twenty great-great grandchildren. Also, the joy of his life, Rickey Peoples (grandson) and Zerrell "Squirell" Williams (great-grandson) along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

We love you Daddy, we love you PawPaw.
