Alexander Salinas October 5, 1953 – September 1, 2021 Gardenside Service to be held at: Private Residence, Sutherland Springs, TX Dawn - mrsjpmoran@hotmail.com / Alex - alexssalinas7@gmail.com Saturday, October 9, 2021 at 1:00 pm Alexander Salinas, son of Arthur and Rose Martinez Salinas, was born in Waco, TX on October 5, 1953. He left this world peacefully in his sleep with his son, Alexander, by his side in the early morning hours of September 1, 2021, at the young age of 67 years old. His battle with cancer is finally over. He was preceded in death by his mother, Rose; his brother in law, Richard Cadena; and his grandson, Nicholas Creighton. He is survived by his two children: Dawn (Jim) Moran of Saucier, MS and Alexander Salinas (Luz) of Sutherland Springs, TX. He is also survived by his five grandchildren: Kiri-Dawn Moran Roeseler, Candice Creighton Mohr, Lissie Salinas, Evan Alexander Salinas and Vivian Rose Salinas, and by his three great-grandchildren: Jayden Carl Mohr, Tanner James Roeseler and Caleb Jeffrey Roeseler. He is also survived by his longtime companion, his German Shepherd, Rizo. He is survived by too many friends and family members to list them all. He wasn’t the easiest man to get to know, but to know him was to love him! He was a father, brother, friend to so many. He was a self-taught Master Carpenter, who made beautiful creations out of wood, old and new. If he touched it, it was a work of art. But he was also a very humble man, finding it hard to accept praise for his works, though inside we are sure he knew how fabulous they are! I know that we will all treasure the pieces he made for us, and they will be family heirlooms for generations to come. A green-thumb gardener all his life, he grew the most delicious vegetables! He was the hardest working man you’d ever meet. He never asked for help, but inspired you to want to help. He planted seeds everywhere he went, whether in his garden or in the minds and hearts of those who were lucky enough to be in his presence. He is the greatest father his two children could ever have asked for and we now live with a huge Daddy shaped hole in our hearts. But we rest easier knowing that there are no scars or pain in Heaven. He knows that he was so very loved. IS so very loved. We will honor him with a Garden-side service at his residence in Sutherland Springs, TX, on October 9, 2021 at 1:00 pm, where, per his wishes, his ashes will be sprinkled in his garden. For details, please contact Dawn @ 228.596.3636 or Alex @ 210.284.2989. This will be his 1st Heavenly Happy Birthday, and we want to honor him in a way that would make him proud. Please help us celebrate this wonderful man who blessed our lives. His memory will live on in the hearts and minds of those who knew and loved him.

  1. My heart is broken. The first man to ever really love me has left my world. I am the woman I am because of him, and I will miss him with every breath I take. Dawn

  2. Look how handsome! He was always the best looking Dad in the school pick-up/drop-off lines! Thank you, Aunt Lyn, for this gem!

  3. Big Alex was a huge part of our lives. He always had a quiet way of giving wisdom and steering you in the right direction. He wouldn’t say much, but he spoke volumes! While we will miss him in this world, we know he’s in a much better place and waiting for us to join him. We also know his spirit is with us everywhere we go! We love him like family and always will. See ya soon, Big Guy! ♥️ With much love and respect, Dane and Ashlee Sandusky

  4. I’m guessing our lord and savior needed help in the carpentry shop. Jesus is our lord & savior after more than 30 yrs as a carpenter! HE must have needed some help and excellent company! He is so going to be missed! Jake

  5. Well dad I knew one day we would have to say goodbye. I just didn’t know it would happen so soon. I love you so much. My dad, best friend and my hero. Since I was a kid I have always wanted to be just like you. Well they all say I’m pretty close. Lucky me. As hard as it us going to be without the blessing of you around I have so many other blessings in my life. As my cup runs over I am so heartbroken. It will be a short separation dad. Ill see you soon. Until then I will continue to do my best to make you proud. It’s a short life y’all. Little Alex

  6. Thank you Alex for everything. You have been an inspiration to many. You welcomed me into your family with open arms and became a great friend and brother. One of the three Amigos is now gone, but will never be forgotten. My heart goes out to Dawn, Alex and everyone else who is grieving and was part of Alex’s life, he was a great man. I love you Alex, and may you now rest in peace.

  7. You know that you were his greatest achievement. His son, Little Alex. And I can’t imagine a time that he wasn’t proud of you. I love you, Baby Brother. So very much! And I am so sorry for your loss.

  8. Alex will always be my brother-in-law. He stepped up when he came into our sister’s life and took on a family when he was so young. He made many sacrifices and worked so hard to make a good home and good life for his family. Life was never easy for him but he had the love, admiration and gratitude of all of the extended family as well as his kids. We’ll see you again Alex.
