Alex was born on October 19, 1970 to Linda Ortiz Canizalez, Dad; Manuel Canizalez, Dad; Alfredo Cortez, Grandmother; Elisa Ortiz. He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Katherine Zost-Ortiz, son; Phillip Zost-Ortiz, wife to Phillip; April Alva, grand-daughter; Karma Zost-Ortiz, daughter; Patricia Ortiz; son-in-law; Matthew Salazar, son; Patrick Ortiz, daughter; Alexis Ortiz. Siblings to Alex are as follows; Augustine Ortiz to include wife; Lisa Ortiz and children, Michael and Timo, Alfred Ortiz to include wife; Jennika and children, Ji and Jekai, Adrian Ortiz to include wife; Norma and children; Adrian Jr., Aerabella, Nylah, Alekie. Followed by Uncles; DJ, Manuel, Flavio, Aunts; Terri, Lolli, Janie, Mary-Jane, Olivia. Followed by cousins; Dana, Roland, Jasmine, Ashley, Josh, J.R., Crystal, Jimmy, Dago, Jessica, Ronnie, Marla, Karla, Aaron, Teri, Michael, Danny, Sonia, Sophie, Sylvia, Sabrina, Salina, Frank, Efrin, Richard, and many other cousins. Alex lived life to enjoy fishing, camping, drinking among other things. Alex braved many storms throughout his life and captured many to lead as an example. Alex is known for the biggest heart and a high level of compassion when it came to his family and friends not to mention the sensitivity he expressed through tears watching certain movies. Alex leaves a legacy like no other. We will miss him as a husband, father, son, brother and friend. Alex will remain in our hearts, "Alex, we will see you on the other side".
