Anita Barrera May 1, 1929 ~ February 28, 2021 Our beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, Anita Barrera, peacefully gained her heavenly wings on February 28, 2021. She was born to parents Pedro and Dolores Rodriguez on May 1, 1929 in Mexico. Anita was a devoted, and faithful Christian who strongly believed in God. She would always look forward to bringing others closer to God. Her passion for Christ led her to become a missionary, and her family unity was equally important as she instilled those same values in her children and grandchildren. She met and married the love of her life, Gilberto Barrera, where they shared 65 blissful years together. Anita will be dearly missed and forever cherished in our hearts. She is preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband, Gilberto, two children, Ana Elizondo, of San Antonio, and Antonio Barrera (Monica), of San Antonio; her sister, Maria Elena Rodriguez; 6 grandchildren, and 13 great-grand children. A Chapel Service will be held on Monday, March 8, 2021, at 10:00 AM at Meadowlawn Funeral Chapel. The service will be livestreamed.
