Aurelio O. Alviar

Aurelio Alviar was born on November 12, 1922 and passed away on April 23, 2014. he was born in Yorktown, Texas to Cenovio and Luisa Alviar and was the youngest with two sister, Janie and Melquiades. He grew up in Eagle Lake and later moved to San Antonio where he met and married Velia Barba. They were wed on February 12, 1952 and eventually had and raised five children, ten grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Aurelio was a simple man with strong morals and was dedicated to raising his family and instilling the importance of education and hard work. All his children were successful in the Aerospace and Insurance industries and have now since retired. Aurelio, Big Larry, as mom called him, was not a religious man, however, he raised his children with a strong belief in God and together with his wife Velia, ensured that all their children completed their Sunday School activities and completed their first Holy Communion and confirmation at St. Margaret Mary's Church. Dad will be missed by all those person's lives he touched. His greatest achievement was his family and all the good which it stands for today. We all collectively look forward to the day we can once again be together as a family in the arms of our Lord with our precious dad and his wonderful ways. Love you - Rest in Peace
