Barbara J. Stribling was called home to be with our Lord and Savior on Saturday, November 9, 2019. She was born to the union of Etta Mae and Pleasanton Wardell Hill on February 4, 1941 in San Antonio, TX. She was a 1959 graduate of Phyllis Wheatley High School. Barbara united in holy matrimony on December 20, 1958 to Joe L. Stribling and together they raised two daughters, Michele and Rochele. Barbara devoted her life to God and was a faithful member of Greater Tree Mount Temple Baptist Church where she lifted her voice to God singing in the choir. She loved spending time with family and friends. Barbara’s passion surrounded children. This passion led to her establishing a home day care, where she provided many years of loving care for her daycare babies who knew her as Ms. B. Barbara was preceded in death by her husband Joe L. Stribling, mother and father Etta Mae Hill and Pleasanton Wardell Hill. Brothers Charles E. Hill, Pleasanton W. Hill Jr., and sister, Sandra F. Sheffield. She leaves behind to cherish her memory her loving daughters Michele and Rochele, her brothers Larry Hill Sr. (Joyce), Owen Hill (Nancy), Sister Linda Woods and a host of nieces, nephews, loving family and friends.

  1. I was Christened As her Goddaughter. Although (and somehow) we lost touch less than 1 year after I became a Mother, my GodMother did meet, & Mother, my BabyGirl, also. How you ask? Because she kept her for me as I returned to complete my senior year of high school, no charge, until. Losing touch never meant forgetting, as I often thought on the Immense Blessing God Had Bestowed Upon me. I Thank Him for Joe and Barbara Stribling. I Always Will. ~Valerie Wimberly~

  2. My condolences to the Stribling family. During the time of Min. of Music at Gtr. Tree Mount Temple BC, Barbara was always a sweet, lovely person and a very faithful choir member. A positive role model. May she Rest In Peace.. Veree Kilby
