Benjamin Halligan
January 19, 1937 ~ June 13, 2008
Benjamin "Tom" Halligan left this world to be with his Heavenly Father on Friday, June 13, 2008 in San Antonio. He was born on January 19, 1937 in Brooklyn, N.Y. to the late Benjamin Thomas and Helen Dravetsky Halligan. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, who raised him in Richeyville, PA. Tom excelled in sports, especially baseball, basketball and golf. He attended A&M at Tulsa, OK and gladly served his country in the U.S. Army. Tom was employed by Minnesota Mining, known as the 3M Co., which ultimately brought Tom to San Antonio to stay. He was a very well known salesman among his colleagues and friends. He was known as "Tom the bomb" by all of his golfing buddies. Tom had a drive to pursue his dreams and to never give up. He is survived by his aunt, Irene Beck of Tucson, AZ; beloved friend, Joan Williams; former wife, Diane Rissman, and by other family members and numerous friends. Many thanks to Vista Care Hospice for all of their care and devoted service. A memorial service is scheduled for 7:00 PM on Friday, June 20, 2008 at Mt. Sinai Baptist Church, 2157 Burnet St., San Antonio, 78239, with Reverend L.H. Mills, pastor and Reverend Daniel Mills as officiating pastor.

Tom ALWAYS had a smile, joke or story whenever he met you. A kind, jovial person & he became a friend to my late husband, Bob, through golf. I am sad to learn of Tom’s passing but know that he will be cheering many in his new “home”. Tom will be greatly missed by those who knew him.
I was shocked and saddened by the passing of my cousin, Tom. My father, his Uncle Joe, was very fond of him and spoke of him often. I met Tom as a seven-year old when he came to stay with us in California for a short period of time. I saw him occasionally during his visits to California and enjoyed our phone chats throughout the years. I always remember, from the time I was a little girl, how I loved his wonderful accent and the upbeat sound of his voice, which I will truly miss. My memory of Tom will be a happy one, which will leave an afterglow of smiles with me always.
Tom was a wonderful, cheerful, full of life individual who always saw the glass not only half full but running over. His smile and laugh was always a joy to behold. He was a special friend and he will be missed very much.
Tom was a dear friend. He took my family and me under his wing when we moved to San Antonio in 1972. His friends were many and he will be deeply missed. Tom could make you laugh even on your worst day. When one had a problem, he would freely share advice on life. Oh what I would give to have just one more golf game with Tom. May God comfort his loved ones at this difficult time and grant Tom eternal peace. God bless you Tom, Todd Beebe
I met Tom in the mid 1960’s. We became friends which wasn’t hard to do with Tom. He always seemed to be smiling and wanted to see you smiling too. He had that affect on everyone. My father who is 89 years old now still remembers Tom although its been probably 25 plus years since he last saw him. I lost track of Tom over the years and missed the good times we all had. I know He is in good hands and still making people feel happy and special which is his special gift. God bless you Tom. Your friend Speedy
I just received word of Toms passing and was saddened.I had not seen Tom for many years but remember him as a good friend and teammate at Centerville high school
