Brenda Marie Grinage

On July 28, 1958, Brenda Marie Grinage was born to the union of Isom and Barbara Waiters-Grinage. She was baptized in the late 1960's at Ezra Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. W.E. Cruse. Brenda was a member of the youth choir where she was given the nickname "Song Bird", she could really sing. Brenda attended Dorie Miller Elementary School, and James W. Riley Junior High School until the family moved to Adkins, Texas where she attended Oak Crest Middle School. When the family returned to San Antonio, she attended Highlands High School. As Brenda bagan her journey in corporate America, she worked at Sanyo and various other jobs. She worked as a cook at Rogers Middle School until her health became a factor. Brenda then began to volunteer in the mid 1990's at Lincoln Community Center and the Woodard Community Center. The kids loved her and she loved them. She was known to the kids as Aunt Bren-Bren. Brenda played on various dart and pool teams where she was known as "Miss Kit-Kat and Mack 10". She was the team mother of the San Antonio Softball Team "The 40oz. Gang". In the mid 1970's her daughter, Latasha Latrice Grinage was born, now deceased and in 1979 her oldest son, Anthony Grinage(Willie/Big Baby)was born. Later that year she met Donald "Turkey" Wilson and to that union two children were born; Dontranay Wilson (deceased) and Donald Wayne Grinage (Ikey). Her son', grandchildren, and family were her life, as was fishing! On April 13, 2014 Branda answered the Master's call to "come home my child and rest". She is preceded in death by her parents, Isom Grinage, Barbara Grinage-Richard and stepfather, Thomas C. Richard, Sr.; her daughters, Latasha Grinage and Dontranay Wilson; husband, Donald "Turkey" Wilson; sister, Kathy Grinage-Mitchell and brother, Robert W. Richard. Brenda leaves to cherish her memory, sons, Anthony "Willie" R. Grinage, Donald "Ikey" W. Grinage (Ebony); sister, Debra Richard-Miller (Ronnie); brothers, Thomas "Papa" C. Richard, Jr. and Larry D."Tuddy" Richard of Albany, Oregon; grandchildren, Keontrae, Shadondraniece, Demauriae, Dontrayna, Ineisha, Demauris, Ikeice and Donald, Jr.; nephews, Darrick Oliver, Sr. and Thomas C. Richard, IV; nieces, Nicole S. Richard, Krystal Richard and Shantell Richard (Vallejo, Ca.); sisters-in-law, Loretta Wilson and Susan Jones; brothers-in-law, David Mitchell and Tony Anderson; mother-in-law, Auguster Anderson; special aunt, Dora Ellison; her best friend, Charlesetta Lovings-Scott and many other aunts, uncles, relatives and friends.

  4. To my sister Brenda !! There is a hole in my Heart, that only GOD can fill. He knows best, I want question his Will (is done). He seen you were tired, called you home for eternal rest. I thank GOD he allowed you to respond to me as “I said “I LOVE YOU”, before you left. I will take my trip to Seadrift next month for birthday as we planned “In Your Memory, until we meet again”. I’M Missing YOU”…GOD will see me through.
