Brittney Michelle Thomason

brittney thomason
It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Brittney M. Thomason our dearly loved daughter, sister, and friend to so many people who knew her. She is survived by her mother (Stacy), father (Robert) brother (Ryan), and many more family members. Brittney was well know in the San Antonio area. Born in Lancaster, California June 30, 1993. She relocated to San Antonio, Texas with her family after her father accepted a job in December 2005. Brittney fell in love with all things animals from the time she could walk. She organized donation drives in her neighborhood for the local animal shelters. Her first livestock animal project was a lamb named fluffy. She raised numerous lambs, pigs, and rabbits thru 4-H and the FFA (Future Farmers of America). In her freshman year at James Madison High School, she decided it was time to move on the steers. In the 4 years at Madison she raised 6 show steers and 2 commercial pens of steers. She ended her time at Madison winning numerous ribbons, buckles and a $16 000 scholarship from the San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo. Brittney was accepted to Tarleton State University in 2012. Tarleton’s school color was purple, her absolute favorite. Her goal was to become a large animal veterinarian. Brittney was fully dedicated to her animals even after being diagnosed with a very serious disease (Gastroparesis) at the age of 15. This did not slow her down. She endured numerous surgeries and stays in hospitals, while making friends all the time. Her illness kept her from attending college. Brittney then decided to get into horses to help rehabilitate her muscles from spending much of her time bedridden. Her final pride and joy was Sunny donated to her. Her mother ended up becoming her full time caretaker for 14 years. The two were inseparable. Brittney is now is the hands of Lord and Savior full restored and healed. We all will be with her one day. Memorial Service will be held at Meadowlawn Cemetery, 5611 E. Houston St., San Antonio, TX 78220 on Friday August 6th, 2021 at 1000 a.m. with a short internment service to follow at the same location.
