Catherine S. Dorsey

Catherine S. Dorsey, affectionally known as “Cathy or Catt”, passed in peace on July 8, 2021, at the age of 74. She was born in Clinton, Mississippi to the late Odessa Outland and Laberia Simpson. She was baptized at an early age and absolutely loved the Lord. She attended El Paso Community College and University of Texas in El Paso. Cathy was a beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and sister. She was known as “MOM” by all her grandkid’s friends. She was an avid Dallas Cowboys and Spurs fan. Known for having a big heart and a personality that would keep you laughing, she was our voice of reason, knowledge, comfort, protection, love, and support. If you needed her, she was always there. She dedicated her life helping others and after 30+ years working for Texas Department of Health and Human Services, she finally retired as an Eligibility Trainer. She spent the rest of her retirement life ordering from Amazon, Walmart, hanging out with her family and best friend, Charlene Abel-bey, Vegas, and Cruise trips with her brother Arthur and spoiling her grand and great-grandkids rotten. Cathy is survived by her only child, Kimberly Charrisse Dorsey; her 2 grandsons, Zachary Scott Dorsey, Anthony Andre Caraway Jr.; her 2 great-grandchildren, Javyen David LeDay and Zayne Anthony Dorsey; 3 sisters, Alice Vanderveer; Dorothy Davis, Regina Dockery; 3 brothers, Laberia Simpson Jr., Arthur Simpson, Dennis Simpson, and numerous other relatives. She is preceded in death by her sister, Denise Simpson, and her parents.
