Clara Servin Martinez

clara martinez
Clara Servin Martinez joined her lord God in Heaven June 12, 2020. She was born in Floresville, Texas to Ramon and Ascencion Servin. She was married to Jose A Martinez on Oct. 12 1961. After marriage, they started their family together. Clara was a stay at home mom for most of her life. There was nothing else that she enjoyed more than to be with her family. She was a very strict mother but made sure to teach her children lifelong lessons. She had a dream in life that her children would live together with her, she never wanted them apart. Jose Angel made her dream come true by building his wife a three-story home so her children would have plenty of space to live together. She was a businesswoman and a leader. Never one to give up, when her daughter and husband lost their job at around the same time, she convinced them to go out and start their own business that has now been in business for 16 yrs. She was a great mother and grandmother and was always a rock in their life. Clara lived a good life with a loving family surrounding her and lifelong friends she made on the way. She is preceded in death by her parents and her children, Anna Martinez and Raul Martinez. Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 59 years, Jose Angel Martinez; children, Alma Martinez, Diana (Efrain) Trevino, Jose (Becky) Martinez Jr., Gabriel (Adelaine Castro) Martinez and Angela Martinez; grandchildren, Joey Treviño, Efrain Treviño Jr., Javier Treviño, Gabriel Martinez Jr., Alexis Martinez, Anthony Martinez, Jon Settles, Alma Settles, Bryan Urbina, Christian Urbina, Isaiah Martinez and Marizza Martinez; great-grandchildren, Benny Carrera, Emerald Carrera and Damian Carrera.

The love she extended to the Kelley family in Kentucky will never be forgotten or lost. We love Martinez family and hope that you get through this tough time with love and support of each other. We hope to see you soon. Love, Rob Kelley

  13. I remember when I first met Mrs. Martinez. I was invited to join Mariachi Cometas. I was shy and quiet and brought my mom with me. Right away Mrs. Martinez and my mom became close, chattering away. When it came to my time to sing I sang very quietly. Mrs. Martinez came up to me and said “let it out don’t be scared” so when we did it again I sang as if my life depended it on. She can up to me again and said “That’s the way to do it.” 😄 she brought me closer to my now life long friend Angel. She was so supportive. When my mom passed she helped collect money for the funeral. How to thank someone with such a big heart. Thank you Mrs. Martinez for your words, your support and for you cheers and applause for the Mariachi community. You will be forever missed❤

  14. My deepest condolences to the family, it was an honor being Mrs. Martinez’s nurse and friend. Your love and presence will be deeply missed. Rest in Peace my friend, I know you are smiling down on us from heaven.
