Clay Edward Burris was born July 12,1930 in Plattsburgh, Missouri to Gertie R. (Jefferson) Tate and Melvin Burris. He attended school in Plattsburgh and Kansas City, Missouri. After graduating high school, he enlisted in the US Air Force and served proudly for 30 years, achieving the rank of Senior Master Sergeant. He obeyed the Gospel and became a member of Dellcrest Church of Christ and served faithfully until his death. He is preceded in death by his first wife, Myrtle (Harris) Burris of 50 years and his stepson, Harold Meullion. He leaves to mourn his passing, his wife, Virginia Burris; stepson, Corey (Tamika) Jefferson and their kids, Tea & Corey, II; granddaughter, April Meullion; great-grandson, Aaron Meullion; sister, Loreen Harris of Plattsburgh, Missouri; and a host of relatives and friends.
