Deborah "Debi" Borso-Crockett

Deborah “Debi” Borso-Crockett passed away July 22, 2019 at the age of 67. She was born January 20,
1952 in Fountain Hill, PA to Dorothy and John Borso.
Debi will be remembered for her many accomplishments. She worked for the Bureau of Prisons thirteen
years. She also worked at the U.S. Secret Service in a number of roles, including Senior Investigative
Officer, Counterfeit Money Specialist, and Equal Employment Opportunity Counselor (EEOC) for fifteen
years.
Outside of her professional life, her hobbies were wide-ranging and diverse. Her main passion was
dance, in particular Middle Eastern dance. She created her website “Shimmers in the Sand” for her
newly created dance troupe. They performed free entertainment for senior assisted living and nursing
homes throughout the San Antonio area. In addition, she taught dance classes for cancer survivors free
of charge. She loved gardening, cooking, and playing the keyboard in her spare time. She was also a
licensed pilot for small aircraft, an accomplished artist, and created and designed costumes for her
dance performances.
Debi is preceded in death by her parents, John Sr. and Dorothy Borso. She leaves behind to cherish her
memory her loving husband, Ray Lee Wilson Sr.; son, Ray Lee Wilson Jr.; brothers, John Borso Jr.,
Michael Borso; numerous other loving relatives and friends.

I got to know her and her husband during my visits to the doctors office. I use to see weekly then my visits got to monthly and more, so didn’t see her as often. Always loved to sit and talk with her. Her journey is over and may she Rest In Peace. 💕 Debbie R

Have known Debi since 2010 as a member of her dance troupe Shimmers in the Sand, she will be sadly missed…….my prayers are with her husband Ray. I started thinking about it & I’ve known Debi since 2009 when I 1st started taking dance classes from her. I miss you my friend
Debi was my best friend, my chosen big sister. She taught me to dance, even though I’m clumsy, and to believe I can make it look good. We both loved to make belly dance costumes, and maybe we even had more fun doing that than dancing. She treated everyone in her troupe as family. We celebrated birthdays, commiserated when necessary, & encouraged each other. She was our leader, sometimes our peacekeeper, and always our friend and sister. I will miss the trips to ABDC, the ice cream after performances, the excitement about new costumes made, and the friendship of a lifetime. Until we meet again, my beloved sister…
Deborah aka Shiraz was a very giving talented caring woman and beautiful dancer. I can’t believe she is gone. Although I may not have seen her in person for a few months I thought of her daily. I can’t imagine Ray’s sadness. Love from Atheena and Roger
Yes I will miss my “Shimmer Sister” & our performances together, our annual Christmas parties, birthdays, costume making parties at her house….So sad
