diane chargois
Diane Chargois was born July 8, 1947 in Beaumont, Texas to Irene Walters and Lawrence Goodie. She was later raised by her mother and step-father, Raymond Clay, Sr.,. Diane attended San Antonio public schools and was the oldest of three siblings. Diane accepted Christ at a young age and maintained her relationship with the Lord throughout her life. At a very early age it was evident that she had a passion for life. Diane was also blessed with a beautiful voice and would often steal the show with her voice on nights out with friends. In addition to having an angelic voice, Diane was a pretty good pool player and would frequently put unsuspecting players to shame. Her adult life was spent in Beaumont, Texas where she had many jobs, most notably the Beaumont Professional men’s Club, where she met her best friend of over thirty years, Ms. Nova Lee Watts. Later in life Diane lost her sight and eventually moved back to San Antonio to be closer to family and remained until her death. Diane was preceded in death by her father, Lawrence Goodie; mother, Irene Clay and brother, Paul Goodie. She leaves to cherish her loving memory, her father, Raymond Clay, Sr.; children. Valarie and Charles (Janie) Steen; siblings, Patricia (Jerris) Adams and Raymond Clay, Jr. (Mary) and Geneva Goodie, grandchildren, Katie Lodrige-Steen, Kameron Howard, Kevin Mickle, Kaitlyn Steen, Kassidy Steen, nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
