Effie Deleaa Washington

effie washington
Effie Deleaa Washington was born on January 14, 1967 and went to be with the Lord on October 7, 2020. She accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as her Savior. Amongst those welcoming Effie into Heaven are her mother, Dorothy Lee Washington, sister, Charlene Washington and grandmother, Dorothy Lee Williams. A native of San Antonio, Texas, Effie graduated from Roosevelt High School and continued her education by attending Paul Quinn College, receiving her Business Administration degree in 1992. After graduating from Paul Quinn, Effie made Dallas, Texas her home, building her career and fostering life-time friendships as she did when she attended Roosevelt High school. Effie was a loving and dedicated daughter. This was shown by her unwavering love and support of her dear mother, whom she adored and looked up to. Effie was a loving and protective sister. This was shown by the support and guidance she provided her little sister. Effie was an empowering and supportive friend. This was shown by the way she helped them through rough times and tight spots. And, let us not forget her listening ear, along with her innate optimistic words of encouragement, and her celebratory cheers for each accomplishment made. Effie was a child of God. This was shown through her daily actions to be an obedient servant of God, and through the way she made you feel when you were with her—loved, welcomed and joyful. Effie enjoyed her life by shopping at her favorite stores, reading, bowling, eating at her favorite restaurants, and spending fun, loving, quality time with family and friends. Effie is survived by her Aunts: Julia Williams of San Antonio, TX and Carolyn Means of Converse, TX; Uncle: Douglas Williams of Cibolo, TX; Cousins: Larry W. Davis, Jr., Latrecia Lynn Davis-Johnson, Roshanda Williams, and Tameka Blanton, all of San Antonio, TX. A sweet and gentle soul has returned to Heaven and she is dearly missed by many.
