Ella L. Varner

Ella L. Varner passed away peacefully August 14th, 2019 in San Antonio, Texas at the age of eighty-two. Ella was born October 4th, 1936 to Vance Williams and Ruby Simmons Williams in San Augustine, Texas. She attended the public schools in the area. In her adult years she moved to San Antonio, Texas and began her career in the grocery industry. She worked for Handy Andy Supermarket, Waitz Model Food Market and later at H.E.B. Grocery Store where she would retire. Ella was an avid basketball fan and the Spurs were her number one team. She was a woman of wisdom and strength and will be remembered for so many wonderful things. Ella was preceded in death by her parents, Vance and Ruby Williams; brother, Curtis Williams; step-sister, Pearlee Dodd and son, Johnny Traylor. Ella leaves to cherish her memory, her children, Ella F. Smith of Hempstead, Texas, Sandra K. White of San Antonio, Texas, Audrey F. Williams of San Antonio, Texas, Wayne H. Porter (Lee) of San Augustine, Texas, Sharron Porter (Earnest) of San Antonio, Texas, Celestine Clark of Houston, Texas and sister, Everlean Ramsey (A.D.); grandchildren, Arthur Traylor, Dwayne Traylor, Karen Smith, Tyronda Smith, Jermaine Traylor, Charmaine Traylor, Bruce Traylor, Daniel Traylor, Demarcus Moss, Tamara Wilkerson, Tysha Grant, Ve’nee Williams, Ze’rek Williams, Tiffany Noel, Nocole Evans, Tameka Blanton, LaCresha Humble and Robin Watkins, numerous great-grandchildren and other loving relatives and friends.
