Cecilia Holt, born 7-15-1923 to Noah & Bernadette Simpson died 5-27-08. Cecilia was the 2nd oldest of 13 children. She was preceded in death by three brothers, one sister, and by husbands, George Witherspoon and Jack Holt, and by a grandson, Danny Witherspoon. She is survived by beloved son, James Witherspoon (Mary); daughter, Jackie Duffin (Danny); grandchildren, Brian Witherspoon (Jill), Kasey Jackson and Daniel Duffin; great-grandchildren, Tom, Paige, Hannah, Griffin Witherspoon and Tylor Jackson. Cecilia considered herself blessed to be part of a large family and loved all of them. In her final years, she was lovingly cared for by her brother, Noah Simpson, Sisters Marion Goodman and Lorena Simpson. We are so grateful that they were always there for her. She is now at peace and in the arms of God. A Memorial mass will be held at 9:00 AM on Saturday, May 31, 2008 at St. Jerome Catholic Church, 7955 Real Road, Martinez TX. 78263.

Jackie, losing a parent is never easy. You’re in my prayers.
I’m not sure if what I previously wrote was recorded … perhaps a computer gliche. Again, to me, you were always my Aunt “Tu Tu.” You were the one who took me to “The Flame” for fried fish or “Podnuh’s” for a burger or fried chicken …. especially when I was tired of Grandma’s Chicken-n-Rice soup, for at that time, I hadn’t started in school yet, and you always delivered a treat! You were always special to me. Blake(my 17 yr old son) & I saw you about two years ago. I was told that you probably wouldn’t know me, yet when you saw me, you went to the hallwall and pointed to several pictures(photos of so many children) and of Bethany, my daughter … as she was then, a very young red-headed child. I KNOW that you knew who I was. You KNEW who I was! Please know that for all of us, you will never be forgotten, and like Grandma, I somehow see you handing out “Juicy Fruit” and “Orange Slices” in Heaven. We will all return again and be reunited … Love Rodney.
Dear Jimmy & Mary Alice, Jackie & Danny, Brian & Jill, Kasey and Daniel and great-grandchildren, We are praying for you over here on the other side of the planet. Wish we were there to hug your necks. Aunt Tu-Tu’s contagious smile and laughter will always be how she is remembered by me. My life has been blessed and enriched by knowing her. To all of you who lost a Mom,a sister,an Aunt,etc.We are so sorry for your loss.I have many good memories of Aunt TuTu.I remember many times that I went to her house when I was young and played with Jackie.She is indeed in a far better place.She will be missed by all.God bless you all.
