Freddy Eugene Cox

freddy cox
Freddy Eugene Cox was born August 7, 1947 at Brooke General Hospital, Fort Sam Houston, Texas to Fred Eugene Cox and Kathryn Louise (Bailey) Cox. The Lord called Freddy to his heavenly home on January 22, 2021 at the age of 74 years old. Freddy’s father passed away at the age of 41 when Freddy was 17 years old. He finished his schooling in Buford, Georgia where he graduated high school. He attended 2 years of college. Following college he went to work, his career path included Rich’s in Atlanta, Georgia, Security Department and working setting up store and window displays. Later in his travels he continued to work at various companies setting up store displays. Freddy fell in love four times over the years and married very special ladies, sadly the marriages ended. He was blessed to be the father of one daughter and three sons that he loved. Although he was absent during their childhood years, he kept their pictures close and their memories in his heart. Freddy had three mini strokes by the age of 64, which left him dependent on a walker and took away his ability to drive. For 9 ½ years his brother-in-law, Otto Strey, Jr. and his sister, Ora “Ann” lent their helping hands. Freddy passed away from Parkinson Disease. Freddy is survived by his children; Joshua Cox, Kristi Cox, Jonathan Cox and Benjamin Cox; his step-sisters, Mrs. Otto Strey, Jr. (Ora “Ann” Petty), Mrs. Robert McHaney (Kathryn Louise Petty) and Mrs. John Royal (Barbara Jean Petty). A very special thank you to Consuelo Barrios, Daniel Wright, Generous Home Care Hospice, Well-Med, social worker Mr. Mike, Dr. Ayham Shneker and staff and all of Freddy’s doctors and nurses. Special thanks to Mr. Michael Gonzalez an agent for United Healthcare, who called Freddy every Christmas and birthday, to Juanita Washington, caregiver and the staff of MeadowLawn Funeral Home,Mr. Raymond Clay, Jr. and Ms. Sharol Curry. God bless each of you for your help. Rest in peace Freddy - we love you.

  1. I never met Freddy but heard so many nice things about him by two of our dearest friends, Otto & Ann Strey (his step sister) who spent a lot of time helping take care of Freddy when his illness became to much for him on his own. Freddy, I just wanted to you know that you were so loved by Otto and Ann. Our sincere sympathy goes out to dear Ann and all of Freddy’s family and love ones. Pam & Ken Scribner
