Gail James Toney

gail toney
Gail Lorraine (James) Toney was born to Nathaniel and Betty James, in San Antonio, Texas. She married her husband Michael July 26, 1987. She began her schooling at Holy Redeemer Catholic School, graduated from Highlands High School, and received her degree in Journalism from Southwest Texas State University. As a teenager Gail worked for Handy Andy then moved into management at HEB. She later built a career with the Department of Defense (Kelly AFB) and Social Security Administration. Never letting grass grow under feet, she started her own business, M-Pact Social Security and purchased and renovated homes in the community she grew up in. Gail was a loving and supportive mother, never missing a school or sporting event. She was a tremendous mentor to her children, always providing encouragement and direction. She was proud of their accomplishments and always let them know. She found great joy in helping people, especially her mother. She was a beautiful woman inside and out and dressed to impress; Queen of Soul Miss Congeniality and featured in National Geographic as representative of St. Philip’s College in the river parade. Her smile could light up a room, skin smooth as silk and her eyes sparkled like diamonds. Most of all she loved the Lord. Gail prayed quietly and consistently and shared her belief in Jesus Christ with anyone who cared to listen. Gail is survived by her husband Michael; daughter Erika; son Miles; mother Betty; brothers Charles (Mary) and Alvin (Judy); sister Diane; many nieces, nephews, uncles and aunts. She will be missed by numerous friends she has made during her journey of life. She found strength and courage during her battle with cancer from the fellowship at Holy Redeemer and the sermons and prayers of Father Kevin. Gail’s Faith never wavered and her spirit is in Heaven, joining her father Nathaniel and brother William in eternal life.

Miss Me, But Let Me Go Author Unknown When I come to the end of the road, and the sun has set for me. I want no rites in a gloom-filled room. Why cry for a soul set free? Miss me a little—but not too long, and not with your head bowed low. Remember the love that was once shared. Miss me, but let me go. For this is a journey we all must take, and each must go alone. It’s all a part of the master’s plan, a step on the road to home. When you are lonely and sick of heart, go to the friends we know. Bear your sorrow in good deeds. Miss me, but let me go.
