Garland Rome

Evening came for Garland Rome on May 22, 2020, at 2:27 p.m. at Mission Trail Baptist Hospital. He was preceded in death by his mother Martha Douglas Rome, sister Irene Rome Henderson, brother Archie William Rome, sister Marsha Ann Scott. Garland Rome was born December 2, 1958 to Reuben Rome Sr and Martha Douglas Rome in San Antonio, Texas. He was a graduate of Sam Houston High School and had a passion for working with cars. He obtained a degree as a Licensed Auto Mechanic and spent a lot of time working on and using his craft. He loved helping people and was known for doing so. He was known as the neighborhood auto mechanic and many people came to him for assistance on their car related needs from all around the San Antonio area. He was loved by many people and especially his family and will always be cherished and remembered. He leaves to cherish his memory his beloved father Reuben Rome Sr.; one brother Reuben Rome Jr.(Jeanette); three sisters Katherine Patricia Scott, Brenda Joyce Scott(Michael), Theresa Lynn Rome, sister-in-law Catherine Rome, brother-in-law William Scott Sr., stepsister Yuvonka Sheppard(Charles), stepbrother Andre Brown(Daphne), friend Jackie Johnson all of San Antonio, Texas and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and loving, caring, relatives and friends.
