He joined The American Sportsman Club and traveled throughout the USA pursuing many hunting, fishing, and other sporting events. He enjoyed both fresh and saltwater fishing, and was a skilled bow hunter as well as an excellent rifleman. He loved nature and animals, enjoying the majestic beauty of the places he traveled. George became very active playing bingo and made many friends at the American Legion Halls located in Bandera and Lakehills, but his favorite was Friday nights at the Pipe Creek VFD games. He was extremely lucky and was crowned "King George" many times. Thanks to all who welcomed George wherever he went. Thank you to the Bandera Nursing and Rehab. staff for all your care, kindnesses, and compassion during George's final years. Plans for a celebration of life are pending, and a private interment will be held at the Pipe Creek Cemetery where "he wanted to be next to his Dad under the big oak tree". His laughter, warm smile, and love for all will be missed. Rest easy, dear brother, your work on earth is done. Now, George travels on to his next great adventure.....
