Gertrud H Chapman

Gertrud H. Chapman, entered into eternal rest on April 5, 2021 at the age of 89. She was born in Amsterdam, Holland to parents: Fredrick and Alida Rieth on November 30, 1931. Gertrud was a caring mother and grandmother who loved her family dearly. She met and married the love of her life, Clinton C. Chapman, where they shared a union of 44 blissful years. They began their family of two, raising their children together. She had a passion for gambling, as many knew her as “G.G.( gambling Gertie)" She enjoyed taking bus trips to Louisiana, where she visited some of her favorite Casinos and friends. Gertrud also enjoyed sports, as she was a Spurs and Raiders fan. Her most important role was to be the “heart of her family.” She will be forever remembered in our hearts for her kind, warm heart, and strong-willed character. She is preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband, Clinton Chapman. She leaves to cherish her loving children, Leo Chapman, LaVera Rabel, her only grandchild, Kayla Moore, and 2 great-grandchildren, Marley Balser and Matthew Moore; sisters: Dolly Taylor, and Chris Graham; and numerous close relatives and friends. A MEMORIAL SERVICE WILL TAKE PLACE IN FORT SAM HOUSTON NATIONAL CEMETERY AT A LATER DATE.
