Gladys, the second oldest child, was born in Victoria, Texas, to Ella McMurray and Charles Wagner. She lived in an area of Victoria called the Bayou across the rail road tracks. Gladys resided in Victoria until 1930 at which time she moved to San Antonio, Texas where she resided until the Lord called her home. She is preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Fleming McMurray and Charles McMurray; sister, Florine Hays; son, Dallas Perryman, and daughter, Charles Evelyn Clay. Gladys was a beloved Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother and most of all she will be greatly missed by all. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, watching Wheel of Fortune, Jeopardy and her soap operas. She also loved reading the bible and her favorite book was Job. We remember her always saying watch as well as pray and trust in God. Gladys was an excellent cook and baker. Gladys worked 5 years for the San Antonio Independent School District and at Fort Sam Houston Military Base. She leaves to cherish her memories; children, Aggie Mukes, Manders Evans (Frances), Jacqueline Champion (James), Barbara Warren; Henry Stone Jr. and Willie Stone; seventeen (17) grandchildren; fourteen (14) great-grandchildren; sisters, Elizabeth Holston, Ester Bennett, Katherine Oliver; brother, Woodrow McMurray and numerous other relatives and friends.
