Hazel L. Taylor

hazel taylor
Hazel Lorine Anderson Taylor was born in Richmond, Virginia on April 11, 1930 and was the fourth of eight children born to David T. Anderson Sr. and Rosa Hunt Anderson. At age 16, Hazel received the Lord Jesus Christ as her Savior and was baptized at First Baptist Church in Richmond, Virginia. Hazel graduated from Maggie L. Walker High School in 1948. Because of her love for her high school and the "green and white", her favorite color was green. She spoke of her Alma Mater often in her latter years. In 1951, she met and married Percy Taylor Sr. Of this union, one son (Percy Jr.) and one daughter (Iris) were born. Percy Sr. preceded her in death on March 4, 2005. In August 1990, Hazel moved to San Antonio, Texas to live with her oldest daughter, Cynthia. Before ailing health, she attended Joshua Baptist Church for several years. For the past eight years she resided at Mystic Park Rehabilitation and Health Care Center, where she was loved and will be missed by many. Her unforgettable words to many were, "I'm praying for you". Some would ask, "Mrs. Taylor, are you praying for me?" She has left a footprint there and a legacy to her family. God used her spiritual struggles to strengthen the faith of family and many others. Her trials, struggles and challenges were not in vain, for through them all, others diligently sought the Lord on her behalf. Hazel's favorite scripture was Psalm 23. Surely He was her Shepherd because He has led her home to the green pastures and still waters eternally. "Jesus said to her, I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live. And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die. Do you believe this?" John 11:25

Guestbook

  1. My dear aunt Hazel, I will surely miss you. I know that I did not see you as often as I should, but it had nothing to do with all the love. We will meet again, until then.

  2. Aunt Hazel, I will miss you as I have already. You were so far away and I could not see you but you were always on my mind and talked of you often. Now you are gone but you left with love in our hearts and now with your sisters, mom and dad you have your wings to fly and rejoice free of pain.

With much love, your niece and nephew,

    Tim and Wanda.
