Jacquelyn Eugenia Smith-Galloway was born in San Antonio, Texas on September 14, 1945 to Dillard Marsden and Lela Mae Smith. Jacquelyn received Christ at an early age and was a member of the New Light Baptist Church. Jacquelyn attended Wheatley High School in San Antonio, Texas. She attended and graduated from St. Philips Community College with a Certificate of Completion in Ward Clerk. She worked as a Unit Clerk and Supervisor at University Hospital and later retired from St. Luke Baptist Hospital. She was a woman of strength and wisdom and will be remembered for her love for her family, her bright smile and her giving spirit. Jaquelyn was united in marriage to Lee Ervin Yates, Sr. during this union three sons were born. Later she united in marriage to Thomas William Galloway during this union one daughter was born. She was preceded in death by her mother Lela M. Smith, her father Dillard M. Smith, her son Lee Ervin Yates, Jr. Lee Ervin Yates, Sr. and Thomas William Galloway. Jacquelyn departed this life on August 31, 2020. She leaves to cherish her beautiful memories two sons Dillard De’Shong (Monica) Yates, San Antonio, Texas; Kevin Wayne (Gwendolyn) Yates, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; and one daughter Sharlotte Yvette (Robert) Thompson, Navarre, Forida; four granddaughters, Erica Yvette (Lee)Yates - Doffeny; Amber Lynn Yates; Jessica Nicole (Jason) Carter and Bria Elizabeth Yates; two grandsons, Dr. Devin De ‘Shaun (Ashleigh) Yates, Derius Charles Thompson; four great granddaughters, Alexia Jade Marshall-Yates; Autumn Renee Yates; Leelah Lynn Marie Doffeny; Indi Mae Skye Carter; three great grandsons, Lee Joseph Doffeny, III; Isaiah Xavier Doffeny; Elijah De’Shaun Doffeny and a host of other relatives and friends.
