James Hardeman

James Hardeman, 93, of San Antonio, TX, passed away on Saturday, February 24th, 2018. He was born in Luling, TX on June 22nd, 1924 to Bishop and Annie Hardeman, and was the youngest of five siblings - Elizabeth, Burgess, Harvey, and Ozella - who each preceded him in death. James moved to San Antonio in 1941, at 20 years old, and began a long career that included 30 years at HEB, and - because he couldnt stand to be retired - another 12 years working for Burger King, until he was 87 years old. James is survived by his son, Mark Hardeman Beck, and niece, Arlene Blair, as well as her children - Michael, Beatrice, and Oliver, and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews in San Antonio as well as Luling, who he loved and cared for and supported all his long life. James was pre-deceased by his wife of 41 years, Ruth Rones Hardeman. We will celebrate his life, and his homegoing, on Wednesday, February 28th, 2018, at 11AM - Meadowlawn Memorial Park, 5611 E. Houston St., San Antonio, TX 78220, with a repass to follow at New Mount Pleasant Baptist Church, 1639 Hays St., San Antonio, TX 78202.
