Guestbook

  1. Jessie was amazing, caring, and beautiful. I worked with her at the club for 25 years. We had wonderful times at work and spent time outside of work as well. If I needed someone to talk with she was always there. She will remain in my heart now and forever.

  2. Nakisha Cluff Mrs. Jones was an angel. See was so loving to all who met her. Her family and her dog Sasha made her extremely happy. The following poem describes Mrs. Jones and may she rest in peace. Love Kisha She Was Beautiful She was beautiful but not like the girls in the magazines. She was beautiful for the way she thought. She was beautiful for that sparkle in her eye when she talked about something she loved. She was beautiful for the ability to make other people smile when she was sad. No, she wasn’t beautiful for something as temporary as her looks. She was beautiful deep down in her soul. By: F. Scott Fitzgerald

  3. Jessie one of the sweetest women on earth. I have never heard her speak ill of anyone. Even though she was not my biological mom, no one would ever know the difference. She certainly made me feel like one of her own with out a doubt. I will always cherish those memories. Miss you Mama J Love Phil

  4. JESSIE (THE SUGAR IN MY BOWL) I was 8 yrs. old when you came into my life. My Daddy took me for a walk in my Grandparents backyard and told me that he was marrying you. You then became my Stepmother. Stepmother means that you were not my Biological Mother but my Mother. The LORD GOD blessed me with the best of the best of a Mother and the best of the best of a Stepmother. You then gave Phil and I a little sister, Audreynette and a little brother, Cornel whom we cherished and who loved us. As Kids we loved coming to visit big ole San Antonio from little ole Lockhart. The KFC and the Whoppers and that awesome Record Store on Pine to buy our 45rpms that we would play both sides until worn. In turn, Audrey and Cornel loved coming to Lockhart and we were amazed at what their little eyes could see. The freedom of walking to “town”, the Dairy Queen and the Sausage Place. We were blended, we were family as Audrey would say. If “Cinderella” had a Stepmother like you there would never have been the folktale and the misconception of “Stepmother and Stepdaughter relations.” I loved my Daddy and you loved him more. I so admired how you cared for him taking none too lightly your vows “in sickness and in health, and until death us do part.” You told me that you prayed to GOD that if HE would just let him live you would take care of him, you bore that rugged cross and I envision your crown being heavy laden with jewels that your pretty little head will barely hold up. Jessie, you chose to love us with all your heart. For 61 years you were in my peaks and valleys, our “Earthly Angel,” the Little Banty Hen, feisty and ferocious! You blessed us time and time again both in times of need and to spoil; and for my thank-you your response would always be, “Baby you don’t have to thank me.” No Ma’am. Daddy once said, “it is better to give than to receive.” That lingered with me and I didn’t know he was quoting scripture until I read upon it one day: Acts 20:35 I have shewed you all things, how that so laboring ye ought to support the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he said, It is more blessed to give than to receive. You cracked me up at restaurants with your tipping. You got a kick out of severely over tipping, the highlight of the meal. Well beloved Jessie (Sugar in my bowl), you “over tipped” us with your open-hand gifting and living. I will no longer be able to call you and for you to ask me how those “little devils” (Phylena, Kasey) and the “little ones” (Skylyn, Olivia, Cameron, Sage) are doing, never see your angelic face. But the very best part of you, your SPIRIT will constantly be with me. I will pause until my grave, every August 16th, September 27th, and every “Mother’s Day” to Bless GOD for your being my “Stepmother.” Enjoy your well-deserved rest (2 Corinthians 5:8) until that great getting up day (1 Thessalonians 4:16). As we always say in our parting…LOVE YOU.

  5. I am overjoyed that my daughter got a chance to meet and love her great-grandmother Jessie. I will always cherish these days.

  6. Mrs. Jessie was a class act! When I first met her, her energy was warm and inviting. She pushed my hand shake away, and drew me closer for a hug. She immediately accepted me as family! Our first outing together is a moment I will cherish forever. As a young man, I wanted to prove my independence, and show, I was financially capable of taking care of my new family. It didn’t turn out the way I envisioned… As I approached our first destination “Cheese Cake Factory”, she yelled from the back, “and We’re getting Valet Service, and I’m paying for it!” – I knew then, that whoever this beautiful little lady was sitting in the backseat, could not be challenged, and I couldn’t convince her otherwise! She was always willing to give of herself, and share all that she had. Her smile was infectious, and her spirit was divine. I am truly grateful to have had the honor and privilege to cross paths with this beloved soul. Jessie, thank you for loving me, and accepting me into your life. Thank you for loving my family Kasey, and Sage. May God keep you in his everlasting arms and eternal rest. I will forever keep your spirit alive in my heart and mind.

  7. A true love to work with and to spend time with. She was a mother to everyone she met. God Bless her and all her family. Marvin Jones

  8. I miss my Jessie… I was blessed to get a bonus grandmother who loved me as her very own. I will always love you.
