Joan Marie White left this world on January 10th of this year, 2019, in her San Antonio home surrounded by her husband and family. She is survived by her husband of 56 years George. She was born on July 23 rd , 1941 in Milton, Massachusetts and attended Holbrook High School. After graduation, she moved to Orlando, FL with her parents Al and Millie Cusimano, and her sister, Betty. She married George Herbert White in 1962 and travelled to Germany, Taiwan, Greece, Italy during their 22 years in the Air Force. After retirement, George and Joan still traveled and went to Canada, Alaska, Mexico, Australia and New Zealand. Joan was an avid sportswoman, world traveler and Spurs addict. She loved football, basketball, campfires, sing-a-longs, fishing, cooking authentic Italian spaghetti for her family and traveling in their RV to relatives homes, nationwide, to help them complete their "to do" lists. Her favorite songs were "You are my Sunshine" and "Mares Eat Oats" which she sang with her children on road trips around this great nation. She is greatly missed and will always be remembered as DAUGHTER of Alfonso and Mildred Cusimano, SISTER of Elizabeth O'Neill of Madison, Alabama, WIFE of George, MOTHER of Kelley Wilson of Sanford, FL and Scott White of Austin, TX, GRANDMOTHER of Leslie Gaines, Elizabeth and Richard Wilson, and Roman Manning-White. GREAT GRANDMOTHER of Khaleesi Green, AUNT of Sharon Williams of Somerville, Alabama, Katie Newton of Springfield, Missouri, Sean O’Neill of Tampa, FL, Christopher O’Neill of Louisiana and Steven O'Neill of Las Vegas, Nevada. There will be a memorial at Fort Sam Houston Army base on January 24 th of 2020 as her and George’s ashes will be placed together in the columbarium to rest.
