Josefina V. Rivera

Josefina V. Rivera, 95, of Port Arthur, passed away Sunday, November 27, 2016 at Christa Santa Rosa Westover Hills, in San Antonio, Tx. She was born on July 14, 1921 in Pihuamo, Jalisco, Mexico and has been a resident of Port Arthur, Texas since 1971 and previously a resident of San Antonio, Texas since 1945. Josefina is a retired employee of the Port Arthur Independent School District and has been a longtime member of Getsemene Methodist Church in Port Arthur, Texas. Josefina is preceded in death by her parents, her siblings Tita Vasquez, Teodoro, Villalobos, Victoria Villalobos, her son, Jose Rivera, Jr. (Maria "Lala") and her granddaughter, Nicholle Cain. She is survived by her siblings Ambrosio, David, Felix (Rita), Cecilio, and Amparo Villalobos, her children Rita, Alejandro (Belinda), Oscar "Danny", Ricardo Rivera and Maria Guerra (Robert), her grandchildren Arnold Romo (Olga), Michael Romo (Veronica), Jose Rivera III (Imelda), Andrea Rivera, Teresa Escobedo (Robert), Jimmie Rivera and Marissa Wentling (Matthew), several great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. A prayer service will be at 7:00 PM, Thursday, December 1, 2016 at MeadowLawn Funeral Home 5611 E. Houston, San Antonio, Texas. The family will be receiving friends from 5:00 PM to service time on Thursday. There will be a viewing at 10am and church service at 11am on Friday, December 2, 2016 at Saint Benedict Catholic Church 4535 Lord Road and a graveside service at 2pm at Chapel Hill Memorial Park 7735 Gibbs Sprawl Road all in San Antonio, Texas.
