Kolbie Pratt Sanford

kolbie sanford
Beloved son, brother, grandson, nephew and friend, Kolbie Pratt Sanford, 18, earned his guardian angel’s wings Monday, December 9, surrounded by his loving family following complications with Extranodal NK/T-Cell Lymphoma, a rare form of Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma. Kolbie, born February 7, 2001, was a June 2019 graduate of McCollum High School in San Antonio, where he was a member of the football team. Left behind to cherish his memory are his parents, Kristin and Tobias Apticar of Round Rock and Jeff Sanford and Claudia Barrientos of San Antonio; sisters Keilynne Bolick and Audrey Lemons; brothers Josh Apticar, Kaleb Sanford and brother-in-law Cody Bolick; grandparents Larry and Pat Saltarelli, Kathy Sanford and Sam and Sylvie Apticar; aunts and uncles Monica and Chris DeNeale, Kristy and Greg Goodwin, Nathan and Beverly Apticar, Justin and Joanna Apticar and Aaron Apticar; his girlfriend, Kayla Montoya, and his treasured dogs Hines and Harley. He is preceded in death by his grandfather “Pops” Chris Sanford. Those who knew Kolbie, even just a little, lost a shining light in their lives. Kolbie, with looks like his hero Superman, could brighten any room with his beautiful smile, warm soul and kind heart. Like most teenage boys, Kolbie enjoyed spending time with his friends and playing his Xbox. He cherished family time four wheeling, swimming and tubing, and rooting for the Cincinnati Bengals and against the Steelers and Cowboys. Kolbie especially loved Christmas. He would wake everyone up at 4 a.m. each year blaring holiday music. He kept everyone laughing with his crazy Christmas t-shirts, sweaters and antics. Kolbie would want nothing more this year than for his family and friends to carry on that spirit by making him proud in all they do and how they appreciate life. A celebration of Kolbie’s life will be held at MeadowLawn Funeral Home, 5611 E. Houston St., in San Antonio, at 2 p.m. on Friday, December 13.
