Laurie Tuoma - Matthews

Laurie Yvette Tuoma-Matthews, 51 years of age, passed gracefully on November 25,2019. Laurie was born June 17,1968 in San Antonio Texas to the late Wiley and Faye Jeanette Matthews. She was the youngest of three children. Her brother, Jimmy preceded her in death. Laurie is a graduate of Sam Houston high school in 1986. Where she also attended cosmetology and shared many memories with classmates that can sit and laugh about to this day. Laurie attended Mount Olive Baptist church where she gave her life to Christ at an early age. Laurie loved to read her bible, praying for and with others, spending time with her family, going to work every day where she always had funny stories about the 6 women, she had taken care of. Laurie loved her job. Always seen laughing and always wearing a smile on her face. She was a loving, caring person, devoted mother, and friend to all. Laurie was also a believer of doing selfless acts. As she will give you the shirt off her back. “To know her, was to love her”. Laurie leaves to cherish her loving memory to her only child, Wylesa Faye Matthews. She’s survived by her sister, Marva (Ollie) Caradine and a special friend, Gerald Griffin. As well a host of nieces and nephews, other relatives and close friends.
