Lorenzo R. Lopez

lorenzo lopez
Lorenzo Rocha Lopez (Lencho), our beloved husband, father, and grandfather was called to be with our Lord on July 5th, 2020. Lorenzo was born on August 10, 1951 in Villa Hidalgo, SLP., Mexico to Concepcion R. Lopez and Sabino G. Lopez. He was the eldest of six children. He spent his formative years in Nuevo Laredo, TAMPS., Mexico where he went to school and spent most of his youth. He graduated high school in 1968. Thereafter, when he turned 18 years old, he and his family emigrated to San Antonio, TX. Upon obtaining his citizenship, he volunteered for the draft, but was never called to service. Lorenzo chose to focus instead on working to establish his future family life. On a trip to visit extended family in Villa Hidalgo, he met and fell in love with his future wife Yolanda O. Lopez. They were married on April 5, 1975. They soon began a new chapter together, briefly living in San Antonio, TX., but decided to move to Detroit, MI. While living in Detroit, they were blessed with three children and nine years later the family returned to San Antonio, TX. to be closer to their loved ones. Lorenzo was a hardworking, loving, family-oriented man that will be greatly missed. He was a friendly, honest, and caring person. His cheerful demeanor, playfulness, and love made a lasting impression on the many people that knew and loved him. He is survived by his spouse Yolanda O. Lopez, children; Lorenzo Lopez Jr., Ricardo Lopez, and Diana Lopez, daughter-in-law and son-in law; Priscilla Flores-Lopez and Daniel Flores, grandchildren; Mateo Lopez, Emma Lopez, Elijah Flores, and Charlotte Flores, his brothers and sister; Dominga Lopez, Mauro Lopez, Ildefonso Lopez, Alberto Lopez, and Antonio Lopez. He is joined in heaven by his parents Sabino G. Lopez and Concepcion R. Lopez. The family would like to thank everyone for their heartfelt condolences. He was a wonderful man, husband, father, and grandfather. He will forever be missed.
