August 9, 1959 ~ October 20, 2020
Our beloved Loretta Marie Garcia was surrounded by angels and lifted to heaven by our Lord on
October 20, 2020. Loretta was born in San Antonio, Texas on August 9, 1959. She graduated
from John Marshall High School, Class of 1979. Growing up in San Antonio, Loretta loved family
gatherings, spending time with family and friends and always looked forward to attending
NIOSA, Fiesta and the Battle of Flowers Parade. She especially loved spending time with family
out in the country at the family’s house and property in Devine, Texas. Loretta loved music and
collected many, many record albums. Loretta taught herself how to play the piano. She began
first playing by ear and later took piano lessons and learned to read music.
Loretta was preceded in death by her parents Alfred and Carmela Garcia of San Antonio and
sister-in-law Brenda Jill Garcia of Katy, TX. Survived by her sister Debbie Glickman of
Maryland, brothers Freddie Garcia of Katy, TX and David Garcia of San Antonio, nieces Brittany
Jeanne Garcia, Melissa Ann Garcia, Danielle Marie Garcia and Michelle Lynn Garcia,
grandniece Aubrey Marie Garcia and grandnephews Hanson Octavius Vice and Elijah Everett
Vice.
Due to the ongoing Covid-19 Pandemic, a private service will be held for Loretta in San Antonio.

Loretta was an absolute joy to be around. She had a charming personality and was always so happy to see you. She would always reach out her arm to “catch” you, and you had no choice but to be drawn in. She of course, was asking where the coffee was. Sending coffee to Heaven today for you sweet Loretta!
Loretta was a precious ray of sunlight, I had the pleasure of supporting her for 3 1/2 years. So many wonderful memories❤️ -Vicki
