Lt. Col. John Hyde Coley III

Lt. Col. John H. Coley III USA (ret), beloved father, grandfather, brother and friend passed away May 7, 2005. John was born in Colorado Springs, Colorado to John and Frances Coley on March 14, 1939. John was a graduate of New Mexico Military Institute and New Mexico State University. He served his country proudly for 23 years including two tours in Vietnam and was awarded the Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Joint Service Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, National Defense Service Medal, and The Vietnam Service Medal. He is survived by his sister, Elizabeth Ann Phillips and husband, James Phillips; son, John Hyde Coley IV and wife, Lisa D. Coley; daughter, Deborah Flynn and husband, Mark B. Flynn; grandchildren, Heather Coley, V.J. Kilburn, Eric Coley and Noelle Coley; and his loving and caring companion, Reina Benson. The family would like to thank the staff at the Vitas Hospice inpatient care facility for the kind and compassionate care given.
