  12. My heart aches for this loss. Luis attended school with my sister Cari Schwartz-Maxwell, and became a very special person to me later. I will never forget our talks, or the time we had together. He was one of a kind, and there are no words for the profound loss our family feels. I will not be able to attend services today (as most employers don’t view a funeral as viable reason to miss work) but I will be thinking and praying all day today for his family and closest friends who will be there to see our beautiful Luis laid to rest. I will miss you my friend.

  13. Dear Luis, May the Lord keep you in his loving embrace forevermore. Our hearts are heavy yet we know we will see you again. For now, memories of you will always bring a smile to both of us. Until we meet again, sleep in eternal peace. Sincerely, Christina & Alan Arizola.

Our deepest condolences to the Becerra Family.

  18. I wanted to express my heartfelt condolences to Luis’ family. For right now, there’s no detour around grief, no shortcut through mourning. However, 2 Cor. 4:7 says that God can give us… ” power beyond what is normal”, to go from one day to the next. This doesn’t mean that we no longer cry or that we forget; it means we recover. We recover because of our hope. Jesus Christ talked about our hope in John 5:28 …a hope of the resurrection. The Bible likens our hope to an anchor. Just like an anchor stabilizes a ship, our hope stabilizes us and keeps us from drowning in overwhelming sadness. 2 Cor. 1:3 describes our Creator as the God of all comfort. One way he comforts us is by moving people who care about us to give us words of encouragement that we need to hear. May the God of comfort be your comfort now during this time of sorrow.
