I’ve known Madeleine all my life. I didn’t get to see her the last few years, but her death will leave a hole in my heart for a long, long time. Madeleine & my mother were friends for decades, & I did some growing up at her house. I will always have memories of her & her family, especially ones of holiday dinners at her house. I always knew Madeliene as Babe. Her brother-in-law, was my step grandfather (who was the only grandfather I knew). Babe was always a very pleasant and enjoyable person to be around.
