  1. Cousin Mark I Love you and miss you dearly. May you Rest In Peace. We truly need God to help us through this time. Our tears are many and heartfelt you are dearly thought of and cherished. Love Cousin Kathryn

  2. Mark, I am so sorry that you are gone. When we transition, I firmly believe that we only leave our earthly body and our spirit is free to protect those that we cared and loved. I believe that you are now appointed to be someone’s protector and angel. So you are not resting but working still in his glory! I know that you now know true meaning of the endless, perfect and impeccable love of our Lord.

  3. I met Mark at Howard University in 1989. His kind spirit and booming baritone voice will forever be in my memory. Praying strength and comfort for the family. Rest in peace, my HU brother! Valerie D. Johnson

  4. My condolences to the family on the passing of Mark A. Hall. Mark was a generous spirited brother. We had the fortune of knowing each other through our membership in Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity and The Abyssinian Baptist Church. He always greeted you with a warm, sincere smile and shared his musical talent. May the Lord keep you during this period of bereavement.

  5. My condolences to the family for your loss. Mark was a son, brother, friend, and perhaps most importantly, an artist. He was a professional and his art led him around the world and back to San Antonio. He demanded more of himself than he did of anyone else. His voice soared, and moved us. His dedication to music inspired, confused and often confounded many. But he was Mark Hall, regardless of the many molds we tried to place him in. Imperfect, yes, but warm, loving and sincere. He will be missed!

Several years later I had the pleasure of seeing him perform in an Austin theater in his role in Jelly’s Last Jam. I didn’t have an opportunity to speak with him but I was so impressed with performance. When a connected years later on Facebook I had an opportunity to tell him how much I enjoyed the play. He was truly a gifted individual.

  13. I’m just blown! Saw this on FB and thought it wasn’t real – but it is. I met Mark in DC when he visited my church, a friend of our minister of music. He stayed a while and shared his vocal gifts with the choirs. He also did a karaoke stint and some of us would often visit and attempt at vocalizing behind some of our favorite tunes. Mark was always kind and personable. Wow, he will be missed in this realm.

  14. My condolences to the entire family and may The Almighty be with you all during this period of healing. Mark and l were very close colleagues, friends and brothers. We performed with each other all over the world and shared many moments with each other. I shall truly miss him.

  15. I am sending deepest condolences to the family of Mark Anthony Hall who sang with my choir, The Late Show’s Gospel Choir, when we sang at 13 sold-out concerts in Spain during the Christmas Holidays in Spain. He was truly a wonderful person, and he will surely be missed by us all.

  16. Beautiful spirit Loving soul! I’m sorry our time spent wasn’t longer & didn’t get to evolve. I’m blessed to have known you. We planned to meet up during my short stay but in a New York minute…were unable too. Mark was talented from the day I met him and more importantly a man of Faith. His Talents, Friendship, Smile and that Laugh will be missed. Rest in Peace my Prince.

  26. My condolences go out to all the family members.

When we lose a loved one in death we might ask why? God the Creator of life, Psalms 36:9 says Jehovah God is the source of life. Romans 5:12 tells us why we die. We can be comforted by the bible text at John 5:28, 29 that all in the memorial tombs will come out. As in Job 14:14, 15 Our Grand Creator will yearn for the work of his hands.

  27. My deepest sympathy to Mark’s family. He was a really great colleague and all around funny guy. He always had an encouraging word. I am truly saddened to learn of his passing. He will be missed.

  28. Was out of town for homegoing, just going on FB to view Mark’s page. Such a wonderful spirit, underused talent full of adventure and life that was cut much much to short. Thank God for our time together at SHHS and in D.C. While at HU. What a Blessing! Rest in eternal peace bro Mark. Prayers to the Hall family for strength and peace. Treasure the good memories!
