Nawlton Joseph Doffeny, Jr. was born October 25, 1935 in Port Arthur, Texas to Rosa Mae and Nawlton Doffeny. He received elementary and junior high education in Port Arthur, Texas and graduated from high school in Detroit, Michigan. Nawlton graduated from junior college in Oceanside, California. He has over 30 years experience as a cook in full meal preparation and baking for large groups; California Lutheran Homes, Carlsbad by the Sea, Jolly Roger’s Restaurant, Oceanside, California and United States Marine Corps. Nawlton was a Vietnam Veteran and honorably discharged in 1973. He received several medals; Good Conduct, Vietnam Service, Vietnam Campaign, National Defense Service, Knight of Columbus, Council 911 in Oceanside, California and Knights of Columbus Council 8067 in San Antonio, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister and one brother. He leaves to mourn, his wife, Katie Mae Wilson Doffeny; daughter, Katherine Doffeny Powell (Lawrence Powell, Sr.); grandsons, Edward A. Powell, Lawrence Powell, Jr. and Anthony N. Powell (Bonnie); son, William Joseph Brown; grandsons, William Brown, Jr., Justin Brown and Andre Brown; one great-grandson, Tyree Powell; three sisters, Mary Nesmith (Johnny) of Miami, Florida, Robena Doffeny and Rose Marie McVea both of San Antonio, Texas; one brother, John Doffeny of San Antonio, Texas; brothers-in-law, John Brown of Richmond, Virginia and Frank Brown of New York, New York; one goddaughter, Meme Carroll; and many many nieces and nephews.
