Raymond Cavasos, age 73, passed away on November 26, 2019, in San Antonio, Texas. He was born May 13, 1946 in Pearsall, TX to Jesus and Julia Cavasos. Raymond met his beloved wife, Gloria, in 1970 and they married June of the same year. Raymond has loved and adored her for 49 wonderful years. He worked as a truck driver for a while until he could no longer work due to disability. He then became, “Mr. Mom,” taking care of all his children and his entire family. He loved his family very much, and was dedicated to raising his grandchildren. He would always drop them off and pick them up from school, as needed. Raymond also loved to laugh and loved western movies. He especially loved fishing. Fishing was so important to him that in his final hours, he mentioned to his family that his dreams were filled with fishing memories. Raymond is preceded in death by his parents, Jesus and Julia Cavasos; sisters and brother, Frances Rodriguez, Lupe Perez, Virginia Constancio, and Joe Salvador Cavasos. Left to cherish his memory and legacy are his loving wife, Gloria Cavasos; children, Raymond Cavasos Jr. (Tracy); Vanessa Galvan (Mark), Denise R. Cavasos (Paul Mann), Jennifer A. Cavasos and Jeffery A. Cavasos; brothers and sisters, Jesus Cavasos Sr., Tony Cavasos, Juan Cavasos and Santos Pina; grandchildren, Renee, Raymond, Xavier, Gabriel, Jesus, Marissa, Angela, Brianna, Bella, Dominic, Jayda, and Elijah; great grandchildren, Baby Gabe and Lia; with numerous other nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. He will be dearly missed by all.

  1. So many memories to share, but the one that I can recall is a combination of events. He was always getting things ready for get together. He was cleaning the pool, sitting up the grill, putting up or taking things down for the holidays. He was always busy making sure his family would have what they needed during the family get together. As you saw him moving around you could see his smile and the love he put into it all for his family. I can easily say he never complain or did I ever see him lose his cool. What a wonderful husband and father he will be missed. God bless all of you

My deepest condolences to my cousin Gloria and her family there’s no words to describe what you’re going through right now I wanna share a good memory of Raymond him and his wife always were with me through my grief when I lost my husband he always had kind words for me very comforting and very uplifting he never had anything bad to say about anyone he was an awesome man a good husband a good father and a great friend to everyone R I P my cousin you will be missed .

Gloria, you and RAYMOND expressed your love in various ways – the way you looked at each other, prepared for retreats together with the goal to always glorify God, a role model couple who always vowed to keep JESUS in the center of your marriage, and in many other ways that touched our hearts. Yes, Raymond adored you Gloria, his beloved wife. Our heartfelt sympathy to you and your family from Arnold & Gloria Mayorga, Maria Elena Gonzales (my mom) and Carmen Martinez (my aunt).
