Robert Leon Flowers was a caring husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He went to his new home on February 26,2021. He was the fifth of nine children was born to Tomel and Gladys Flowers on February 9,1941 in San Antonio, Texas. He received his early education in the San Antonio Independent School District, graduating from Fox Tech High School. He continued his education at St. Philips College where he studied real estate. He earned a certification from H and R Block as a Tax Preparer, and later received a certification in air condition and refrigeration from a Texas technical school. He worked as an Emergency Room Orderly for the Baptist Hospital System, Inspector and Union Plant Chief Steward Local 1019 AFL-CIO from 1971-1990 for Turbine Support and retired after twelve years as the Head Custodian from the San Antonio School District. He was a member of St. Marks Methodist Church and Star Tom Lodge No.100 F.& A.M. Robert enjoyed sports! Three of his favorite teams were the San Antonio Spurs, Pittsburgh Steelers, and the Houston Texans. His hobbies included exercising, morning walks at the local parks, Sudoku Puzzles, and caring for his lawn. He is preceded in death by his parents, his sisters Sally Washington, Dora Mae Camper, Gladys Davis, Alice Brown, Mary Crump, and his brother Herbert Flowers. Robert leaves behind to cherish his memory: His loving wife Evelyn L. Flowers, his two children Dora Flowers-Ige (Oluwaseun) and Robert D. Flowers (Becky). His grandchildren JaRod (Tinkerster), Ileanna (Cookie), Jade (The Lady), and Mia; his brothers Johnny Flowers of San Antonio and Frank Flowers of California along with a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, dear neighbors, and friends. His humor and laughter will be sorely missed.
