Tara K. Muirheid San Antonio – Tara K. Muirheid died July 23rd, 2020, at Brooke Army Medical Center. She was born May 10th, 1982, the daughter of Clay Phillips and Saurahnee Boyd. Tara graduated from Nanih Waiya High School in Louisville Mississippi, class of 2000. Following graduation, she served in U.S. Army and was a veteran of the Iraq and Afghanistan wars. While in service she married Grover J. Muirheid and was the mother of three children. Tara and Grover celebrated 11 years of marriage in May. She will be remembered as a great wife and loving mother. Surviving in addition to her husband, Grover J. Muirheid, are her sons Clayton(8) and Caleb(20), daughter Scarlett(6), father Clay Phillips, mother Saurahnee Boyd, brothers Travis Boyd-Phillips and Trevor Boyd-Phillips, sisters Crystal Smith and Athena Sullivan, grandmother Janet Anderson as well as numerous nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. Tara was preceded by her nephew Jordan Smith, grandmother Catherine Phillips, grandfather Merle Phillips and grandfather H.T. Anderson. Services will be held on Friday, July 31st at 10 am at MeadowLawn Funeral Home, 5611 E. Houston, San Antonio. Due to Covid restrictions the service will be closed, however it will be live streamed through the funeral home website. Following the service on Friday, an additional remembrance will be held in the family home from 3pm to 6pm in order to accommodate more family and friends.

  8. Tara was a sweet, sweet soul. She was an athlete who played both softball and basketball for me at Nanih Waiya. She was very competitive on the court and field. I hadn’t seen her in several years, but I’m sure she was still the same kind person. My prayers and condolences go out to her husband and children and to the rest of her family.
