We have a Great Mom!
Most people think they have a great mom. We are no different. Born
August 27, 1936 in San Antonio to Travis and Elevyn Fanner, our mom
grew up in San Antonio during very difficult economic and racial times.
She lost her only sister at an early adult age due to a tragic accident. She
lost both parents due to illness at their mid lives. We are not sure when
she accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior, but we are sure she did.
She was instrumental in the early development of our faith. She laid the
foundation for our growth in Christ. It was that faith that governed her life.
It was her pray life that keep us protected and made us who we are in
Christ today. My mom wasn’t perfect nor did she raise perfect children. We
have all had our share of temptations and trials promised to us by the
word of God, but we have kept the faith. We have a great mom!
The probability of becoming a physician is about 0.8%. That means
there is a 99.2% chance of not becoming a physician. The odds were
stacked against us. Our mom raised two physicians against all odds!
Sent all of her children to college. What she did to give us the confidence
that becoming a physician was our choice we will never know. How she
was able to develop the educational drive in us to endure the academic
process we will never know. We have a great mom!
Our mom fought through every obstacle of life. From financial and
transportation challenges to health issues she fought to the very end
teaching us values we could only learn by observing her through those
difficult and painful times. Our mom is all about Faith, Jesus, and love.
We have a great mom!
She is survived by Dr. David Parker, Dr. Larry & Venessa Parker,
Cynthia Parker, and her grandchildren, Larry Parker II, Afton Parker,
Brayden Parker, Zane Parker, Levi Parker, and step granddaughter, Katelyn
Hust.
Our mom is, not was, a great mom. She is more alive today then she
ever was. She has fought the good fight of faith. She has gone to her
place in Heaven that the Lord has prepared.
We love you so much mom! Loving you is food for our soul!
