Vivian Octavia Greene

Vivian O. Greene was one of eight children born to Clell Myers, Sr. and Minnie D. Evans on October 29, 1923. She received his primary education in the San Antonio public school system. Vivian was the proud mother of Elroy James Myers who preceded her in death. Vivian married Leroy Moore and to this union one child was born, Rita Marie Matthews. Vivian later married Jack Greene on October 8, 1968 and they enjoyed over 39 years together. Vivian was a proud member of the Ruth Chapter #1121 Order of the Eastern Star. She joined the organization in the early seventies. She was selected as the Queen during the eighties. She accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior and was a faithful member of Macedonia Baptist Church. Becoming a member during the late seventies, she was so proud of her church and bragged about it every chance she got. Vivian loved to visit with family and friends and always enjoyed a good laugh. She always smiled and wanted her “sugar” from everyone that walked through her front door. Vivian leaves to mourn her husband Jack Greene, Daughter, Rita Matthews (Oliver), Stepson Donald Greene, Sr., Sisters, Irene “Vernon” Pleasant Reed, Frankie Bee McKinney and Geneva Tanner, Granddaughter, Lisa Tanner (Roderick) Grandson, Donald Greene, Jr. Great Grandchildren, Royce James-Roderick Tanner, Lawren Marie Tanner, Cherished friend Edna Fillmore, numerous cousins, nieces, nephews extended family and friends. “The stature of a person is not measured in terms of wealth, fortune or fame, but in terms of their character and commitment to God.”

She was a valued employee and friend! Though our paths have seldom crossed in recent years, Mrs. Greene left with us many fond memories to cherish! May God Continue To Bless each of her family members in all of their endeavors and remember we are all special in God’s Sight!!
