Guestbook

  1. I met Wendell 20 years ago working for Houston’s and eventually Bartlett’s. We we not only co-workers but friends as well. Wendell was a very hard work that took pride in his work. Even up until his illness, he came to work everyday and applied himself 100%. He was very kind and caring man that would give you the shirt off his back. He will be truly missed. Christopher E. 2. Wendell worked at Houston’s Later to become Bartletts with my mom, dad, and eventually me when I reached the age of 18. Wether I was 6 years old and had one of my toys stop working, or whenever I wasn’t in a great mood at work, Wendell could always put a smile on my face. This man is one of the most genuine, good hearted people I will ever know to this day. May he rest in peace no longer in the pain no one should ever have to experience.

  3. Wendell was always a fixture as many of us were. I wish I had known he was ill… I wish I could tell him how great he was. Even though I am no longer there, everyone is still my family. I will miss him. I am praying for his family. ❤🙏

  4. Mi gran amigo Wendell grandes momentos que pasamos juntos trabajando en equipo cuanto apredi de ti.que en paz descanse mi gran amigo.

  5. I’ll never forget meeting Wendell, as it was one of the most memorable introductions I’ve ever had in my life. I was the new guy at Bartlett’s, had maybe worked there three days and was still learning how everything worked. I knew I needed to get something for a table, so I walked up to the window and with a plate in my hand looked right at Wendell and said “Excuse me, can I-” and he sharply responded with “My name’s not ‘Excuse me’, it’s Wendell.” Stunned, I just kinda blinked and said “Well my name’s Josh, nice to meet you Wendell.” Man, you should have seen how he grinned. We’ve been friends ever since. Wendell always had a great sense of humor, and through that tough guy exterior there was a man who would share a wink or a laugh with you at the first chance. Wendell was one of the toughest, hardest working men I’ve ever worked with, but when he was holding his grandbaby you could see how deep the love in his heart was. Wendell, you will be missed.

  6. Wendell and Charlene,
I am truly sorry we did not stay connected. I did not know all this was going on.

Uncle Cecil L. Jackson passed on 18th April 2019. The birth anniversary of the baby I was carrying when I met you guys. Wendell gave me a pillow for my back so I could be comfortable driving pregnant back home. Kevin passed too. I was reaching out to let you know this. Yet Wendell left before he did.

Wow, only 55 years young. Seems the good die young! I feel numb…Yet, I am grateful to know Wendell left a wonderful legacy and people who loved him and his memory will always be for a blessing. My condolences to you all.
