Wendell Ray Potter went to be with our Lord Tuesday, August 27, 2019 at the age of 69 years. He was born in Sacramento, CA on October 5, 1949. Wendell served our country in the United States Army during the Vietnam war and was honorably discharged as Major. He spent almost 40 years as an RN and retired after 26 years of dedicated service from Audie L. Murphy Memorial VA Hospital and transitioned into education as an Instructor with Gaylen College of Nursing for 3 years. After extreme adversity as a young child growing up in St. Anthony’s Orphanage in New Mexico, Wendell spent his life dedicated to serving others. He was a faithful man of God who's life mission was to be the hands and feet of Jesus through evangelizing and ministering compassionately to those who were suffering or in need. He served 30 plus years ministering as a part of T.I.M.E. For Christ, traveling to Mexico with the Medical Mission teams, as well as 30 yrs of jail ministry with T.I.M.E. and Wayside Chapel. He taught classes and visited inmates leading them to Christ at the Bexar county jail. He shared his knowledge and love of Christ with anyone who would listen and would give to anyone in need. ………………………..
He is survived by his spouse of 47 years, Kathy Potter; children, Kara Elizondo and her husband Carlos, Ryan S. Potter and his wife, Shannon; 7 grandchildren, Karla, Emma Kate, Lucy, Lila, Sydney, Zachary and Whitney.
