William Wil Davis, age 67, a long-time San Antonio resident, died on June 22, 2018, after a brief battle with cancer. He was born at Travis Air Force Base, California into a family tradition of military service. Davis graduated from Holmes High School in 1968 and joined the U.S. Air Force, serving overseas during the Vietnam War, and earning two Air Medals. He exited the service as a sergeant in 1972, after four years of honorable service. Davis was a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was self-employed for many years, repairing computer numeric-controlled machine tools, all around the state of Texas. He loved to fish, and especially enjoyed deep sea fishing in Corpus Christi, despite getting horribly sea sick each time he went out. He also enjoyed playing golf and often played through the 18 holes at Brackenridge Golf Course. He attended the Folklife Festival and ate at the Ding How restaurant every chance he could. Davis was preceded in death by his beloved daughter, Anna Kathleen; He is survived by his daughter, Erin; son-in-law, Gabriel Perez; grandchildren, Jameson and Kyle; brothers, Thomas and James Davis; and sister, Jacqueline. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the American Cancer Society or the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
