Michael Patrick Garvin was born in Phoenix AZ on April 17, 1951. Mike was a lover of the mechanical. Whether it was aircraft, boats, motorcycles, automobiles, lawnmower or just a simple flashlight, he could take it apart and rebuild it ~ better. While he was adept at working on most anything mechanical, his real passion was classic automobiles of all types. He especially focused on the muscle cars. Mike grew up in a military family and spent his growing years moving from base to base. The last base was Tinker A.F.B Oklahoma where he graduated from Midwest City High School. Upon graduation, he entered the Air Force and trained as a aircraft mechanic. After serving our country Mike moved to San Antonio and shortly thereafter begin work at Fairchild Aircraft. As time progressed, Mike had the opportunity to join the Federal Aviation Administration as an avionics and accident investigator. He worked with the FAA for 22 years. Mike never met a stranger. He enjoyed long conversations and good times with friends. He loved fishing the Texas Gulf Coast, long distant rides with his motorcycle buddies, and showing off his extensive automotive masterpieces at auto shows. Mike moved and traveled extensively around the world however, Mike clearly made it known that he loved Texas best!
