Geraldine Campbell was born on July 5, 1941 in San Angelo, Texas to Mr. George and Mrs. Myrtle Campbell. The family moved to Hutto, Texas where she attended Hutto Elementary School. The family relocated to San Antonio, Texas and Geraldine attended Douglas Jr. High School and Phyllis Wheatley High School, graduating in the Class of 1958.
Geraldine began her career by working alongside her mother at the San Antonio Academy and she remained in that employment until her retirement after thirty plus years of dedicated service. She met and married Floyd Richardson and proudly became Geraldine Richardson. Geraldine was affectionately referred to by her nickname “Dena”. She was the oldest of sixteen children in her family.
She is preceded in death by her son, Floyd Jones; her mother, Myrtle Campbell; her father, George Campbell, Sr.; five brothers, George Campbell, Jr., Charles Lee Campbell, James Campbell, Sr., Leeroy Campbell, and Jimmy Louis Campbell; and her sister, Ida V. Smith.
Left to cherish her life and legacy, her husband, Floyd Richardson; her stepson, Darryl Richardson; daughter in law, Marietou Richardson; her six brothers, Ellis (Alrita) Campbell of Temple, TX., William Campbell of San Antonio, TX., Carl Campbell of Houston, TX., Kenneth (Keshia) Campbell of Seguin, TX., Errol (Carolina) Campbell of San Antonio, TX., and James (Tyna) Campbell, Jr. of San Antonio, TX.; her four sisters, Doris Buchanan, Shirley Campbell, Delores Campbell, and Armenda Campbell, all of San Antonio, TX.; four grandchildren, Essie, Elijah, Darryl, and Ashley Richardson; one godson, Alfred Henderson; and a host of nephews, nieces, great nieces, great nephews, cousins, and friends.
