Obituary

CMSgt. Harold Robert Longmire, United States Air Force retired, was born on November 26, 1925 in Hoxie, Arkansas and passed away on July 9, 2018, at the age of 92 years old, in San Antonio, Texas after a lengthy illness.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 62 years Betty Kay Longmire, his parents Fred and Clovie Longmire and his three brothers and one sister.
He served in the Army Air Corps until it became the Army and the Air Force until he retired after 31 years of active duty on September 1, 1974.
Harold served during WWII where he was wounded and awarded a Purple Heart. He also served a tour in Vietnam. Throughout his (distinguished) military career he received the following medals:

Air Force Good Conduct
Army Achievement
Air Force Commendation
European, African, Middle Eastern Campaign
WWII Victory
Army Occupation
National Defense
Vietnam Service
Basic Infantry

Following his retirement he sold real estate, worked for the US post Randolph office, and volunteered at the base pharmacy for 19 years.
He touched many lives while serving his community through many military/veteran organizations and numerous social organizations.
PMOC- built homes Habitat for Humanity
Harold was a 33rd degree Mason awarded November 11, 2005.
He married his wife of 63 years in 1946.
He is survived by his two children, Gale Gage (Longmire) & Linda Longmire; six grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and a sister, Joan Pierce.
He is going to his heavenly home on July 23rd at 2:30 will full military honors at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery Committal Shelter #3. Memorial Service will be held at the Meadows- Morningside Ministries 730 Babcock Rd. San Antonio, Texas on July 28th at 2:00pm.
